How to Make Your Mix My Media Profile Public

A mixed media animation that lives in a private folder is finished, but nobody has seen it. The paper has been printed, drawn on, cut and scanned back. The frames move. The last step is letting people watch.

Your Mix My Media profile is where that happens. Once it is public, every mix you make lands on one page with one link, so it works as a portfolio of your mixed media animation without any extra setup.

Why make your profile public

Handmade animation is slow work, and slow work deserves a home that is better than a camera roll. A public profile gives you a single address to put in your bio, send to a client, or attach to an application. It keeps growing on its own: each new mix you finish is added without you rebuilding anything.

It also shows the scale of the craft. Your profile counts the mixes you have made and the frames you have cut by hand, which says more about your process than a single clip can.

What a public profile shows

  • Your finished mixes, newest first
  • Mixes made and frames cut
  • Your name as the page title
  • Never your frames or archived mixes

Visitors don't need an account to watch. They also see a Make your own button, so your work becomes an invitation into mixed media animation for the people who find it.

How to turn it on

Every profile starts private. Turning yours on takes a few seconds, and you can undo it at any time.

  1. Open My Media

Sign in and click My Media in the top right of any page. This is where everything you have made lives.

  2. Find the Profile section

It sits in the green header. While your profile is private it is marked Private and the switch on the right is off.

  3. Click Make profile public

Click Make profile public , or flip the switch. A window opens showing the link people will use and what they will see.

  4. Confirm

Click Make public. Your profile is live straight away, and the Profile section now says Public .

  5. Copy your link

Click Copy link and paste it into your bio, a message or your portfolio site. View opens your profile the way visitors see it, where a Share button opens your phone's share sheet.

Try the switch

Here is the same Profile section, working. Flip the switch to see what changes when a profile goes public.

Example · try it

ProfilePrivate

Only you can see your mixes. Make your profile public to get a link anyone can open.

On the real page, a window asks you to confirm before anything changes.

Tidy it before you share

Not every experiment belongs in a portfolio. Test prints, half-finished loops and early drafts can stay with you. Once your profile is public, each mix in My Media has an archive button . Archive a mix and it disappears from your public profile.

Nothing is deleted. Click Archive in the Profile section to see what you have hidden, then click Restore to bring a mix back.

Help your work get found

A public profile is a real page on the web, which means search engines are allowed to find it. A few small habits make your mixed media art easier to discover:

  • Name your files before you upload. Each mix's title on your profile comes from its file name, so ink-on-newsprint-dance-loop says far more than IMG_4821.
  • Use the same link everywhere. Put your profile in your Instagram and TikTok bios, your email signature and your portfolio site. Every link back helps people and search engines treat it as yours.
  • Describe the material when you post. When you share a mix, name what it's made of: watercolor, collage, charcoal, thread. People search for the medium as often as the technique.
  • Keep making. A profile with a steady run of new work reads as an active practice, to visitors and to search engines.

Going private again

You can take your profile down whenever you like. Flip the switch in the Profile section and click Make private. Your link stops working for everyone else straight away, and your mixes and frames stay in My Media.

Questions

Is my Mix My Media profile public by default?

No. Every profile starts private, so only you can see it. It becomes public only when you turn it on in My Media.

Who can see a public profile?

Anyone with the link. It is a normal web page, so people do not need a Mix My Media account to watch your mixes.

Does my profile show my frames?

No. Your profile shows only your finished mixes. Frame sheets (the PDFs you print) stay in My Media, where only you can see them.

Can I hide one mix without making my whole profile private?

Yes. While your profile is public, archive the mix from My Media. Archived mixes disappear from your profile, and you can restore them from the Archive page at any time.

How do I make my profile private again?

Flip the switch in the Profile section of My Media and click Make private. Your link stops working for everyone else straight away.
